Art is an expression of the Rapture of Being unveiling a fragment of the Radiance within
all form. Art awakens the Soul to the timeless presence of Beauty and Truth.”
– Arian

Only a few artists have been able to capture the oft-overlooked transcendency of everyday life to the degree offered by the modern master Arian. The exceptional paintings of this Romantic Realist are the product of an extraordinary natural artistic talent and heartfelt passion, tempered by more than thirty years of devoted study, astute observation and the unfurling realization of his vast artistic vision. Arian’s goal is to “create exquisitely beautiful art that reminds people of their magnificence and inspires them to achieve their dreams.” He is most well-known for his classical and traditional American images, and has been commissioned to paint murals in both the Palace of Gold and the Wheeling Civic Center located in West Virginia.

Arian’s passion for art began to manifest itself early in his childhood. Inspired by the images from animal books and his own upbringing in the American Midwest, he created numerous freehand drawings and sketches for his treasured, ever-present portfolio. His passion for creating art knew no bounds, and soon he was creating charcoal portraits of his relatives and still life paintings on an easel set up in the basement of his family’s home. One of Arian’s most captivating and formative memories came when he was in the third grade. Recognizing his early talent, his teacher taught him to draw a rowboat in perspective, and this first experience in Realism shaped the course of his artistic passion. From this point on, he had no doubt that his life’s work would be in either fine art or architecture, and when he wasn’t drawing and sketching, he often built miniature scale model buildings out of balsa wood.

At the age of twenty-one, Arian took monastic vows and received the same great privilege that Michelangelo himself had been given: the rare and precious opportunity to cultivate his artistic genius under the sponsorship of a religious organization. This patronage allowed him to paint ten hours a day, seven days a week, for a span of nearly two decades, during which he worked with seemingly boundless energy for his beloved craft. Secluded, spared the distractions of secular life, Arian’s increased spiritual awareness pushed his creativity to new heights, allowing his work to take on previously unseen dimensions and unexplored depths. As a result, he produces works which are deeply intuitive in nature and which express his understanding of life’s magnificence as viewed through the artistic lens. According to Arian, “the images create themselves.” This is apparent to the viewer as the subjects of his paintings seem so natural that one feels momentarily transported into their world. In fact, many people experience a rare serenity when viewing his work, which explains their universal appeal and uncanny ability to touch nearly everyone. It should not be surprising, then, that the attraction to Arian’s work is at once timeless and global. There is a peaceful and pristine quality which is infused throughout all his paintings.
